What this ROAS calculator shows

Return on ad spend, blended MER, profit after COGS and ad spend, and break-even ROAS. Pure client-side maths — nothing is sent to an API to calculate.

How to use it

Enter ad spend, attributed revenue and cost of goods for the same period or campaign. Results update as you type. If ROAS sits below break-even, ads are not covering product cost yet.

When merchants need it

Before scaling a Meta or Google campaign, after a promo, or when contribution margin changed. Use alongside the profit margin calculator for per-unit fees.

ROAS tips

Break-even ROAS = 1 ÷ contribution margin. A 40% margin needs 2.5x ROAS to cover COGS. MER is the same formula as ROAS when all marketing spend is in one field — use it as a blended view across channels.

Frequently Asked Questions

ROAS = revenue ÷ ad spend. A 4.0x ROAS means you made £4 revenue for every £1 spent on ads.
MER (marketing efficiency ratio) is blended revenue ÷ marketing spend. With one spend field it matches ROAS; use it when the spend number is all paid acquisition, not a single campaign.
Break-even ROAS = revenue ÷ (revenue − COGS). If your contribution margin is 50%, you need 2.0x ROAS just to cover product cost before other expenses.

COGS should include product cost. Add payment and platform fees into COGS if you want a stricter profit number. For per-unit margin with platform fee presets, use the profit margin calculator.
